Great Commander Ming Jian 明公卿战剑 (Elite Grade)
Great Commander Ming Jian (Elite Grade) is a highly accurate 1:1 replica of a well-preserved Ming Jian.
The Chinese early Ming swords refer to swords from the Song period that still retains its practical character for efficient cutting, featuring a sturdy blade and designed as a cutting and thrusting sword for an era of sophisticated heavy armor.
When discussing the Ming sword, the prominent features are the "云芝铜挡葫芦首, 七星连线鸭舌尖" or the cloud/Ganoderma shape brass guard, huge gourd-shaped pommel, inlaid seven stars, and the most typical Ming-style flat and rounded blade tip known as the "Duck tongue" tip (another common type is the flat Gui 圭-shaped tip), which is clearly distinct from the stabbier tip of the Qing sword. Both cutting edges run almost parallel to each other with subtle tapering and end in a roundish tip.
The fittings of the Great Commander Ming sword is entirely hand-carved, featuring a robust and grand design that highlights the style of the Ming Dynasty. The sturdy blade is counterbalanced by an equally durable handguard and pommel, creating a commanding yet vibrant sword.
