Cirrus cloud civilian Ming sword
明文官卷云剑
Since the mid-Ming period, the trend of civilian officials leading military forces has gradually become mainstream. The evaluation of military strategic thinking was also primarily led by civilian officials, resulting in successful military commanders who passed the imperial examinations becoming protégés of civilian officials.
At that time, the sword bearers were mostly scholars and mid-to-high-ranking military leaders guided by civilian officials, and the design of the swords also reflected the concept of "civilian control over the military". The swords of that time became increasingly elaborate and beautiful, departing from the previous plain and solemn style.
The Cirrus cloud civilian Ming sword is based on a typical mid-Ming sword design after conducting extensive research on ancient paintings, sculptures, and private collections. The outer edge of the Crabapple-shaped guard is surrounded by auspicious clouds, and the pommel is designed in a cirrus cloud-shaped pommel (commonly known as "staff" pommel). It represents the high status of the user and brings good fortune.
Top quality welded pattern steel blade in length 70cm
POB 7cm from the guard
Complete handmade brass fittings
